Join American history expert Alan Brick-Turin for 2 sessions spotlighting two topics: The American Presidency and National Prohibition.

March 4th, 11:00 am: The American Presidency From Washington to Nixon, What would the founders think? This lecture will focus on past presidencies, from Washington and Jackson to Buchanan, Lincoln, Hoover, and Nixon, examining the evolution of the American presidency.

March 11th, 11:00 am: National Prohibition National Madness or Historical Continuity? Explore the long-term trends of temperance and prohibition, from Colonial Times through the Antebellum Era, leading to the Eighteenth Amendment and the Volstead Act. This lecture will provide a historical look at the issues, allowing participants to draw their own conclusions about their relevance today. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a passionate historian!

Alan Brick-Turin, an expert in American history, as he brings a lifetime of historical study to his engaging lectures. Alan holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (now NYU) and a Master of Arts in History from George Mason University. He has lectured on the American Civil War, the history of the American temperance and prohibition movements, and more.In addition to his work as an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College, Alan has developed coursework in project management, risk management, and business development for professionals in corporate settings
