The MBJCC Gymnastics Program
The MBJCC Gymnastics Program ran by Miami Beach Gymnastics offers a wide variety of recreational and competitive gymnastics classes for children of all ages and abilities. Classes are held in our fully equipped gymnastics studio and are taught by our award-winning coaching staff. All gymnasts are tested and placed at the appropriate level to ensure every child is challenged and supported in the right environment. Our program spans everything from Tot Gymnastics for young beginners to our nationally competitive MBJCC Gymnastics Team, which includes Pre-Team and eight competitive levels. Whether your child is just starting out or pursuing a path to competitive gymnastics, we have a program for them.

Recreational Classes
Our recreational gymnastics program serves children from toddlers through advanced recreational gymnasts. All students are tested and placed at the appropriate level. Classes introduce each apparatus and teach foundational skills that develop coordination, balance, strength, and body awareness.
Tot Gymnastics
Children are introduced to each gymnastics apparatus and taught introductory gymnastics skills and body positions that help develop coordination, balance, strength, and body awareness. Children also learn valuable social skills such as working with a group, waiting their turn, listening to directions, and following them.
Beginner Gymnastics
For those with little or no gymnastics experience. Gymnasts are taught basic floor skills such as forward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands while building self-esteem and self-confidence. Children will be introduced to all Olympic events — including vault, uneven bars, and balance beam — with a focus on flexibility, coordination, and strength.
Intermediate Gymnastics
Gymnasts at this level must have met the requirements for Beginner with good form and technique, as this class continues to build upon that foundation. While the basics are always reviewed, it is now time to challenge what they have learned and refine their skills.
Advanced Gymnastics
Gymnasts at this level must have met the requirements for Intermediate. With developed skills, increased strength, lengthened focus, and peaked awareness, gymnasts will approach some of the most complex and intricate skills in recreational gymnastics and continue to refine their technique on each apparatus.
Competitive Team
The MBJCC Gymnastics Team consists of Pre-Team and eight competitive levels. All children must try out to be part of the team, and placement is based on coach discretion.
Pre-Team
Designed for children who demonstrate natural flexibility and strength and have a strong desire and motivation to work hard and show potential for competitive gymnastics. The primary objective is to provide a foundation to perform competitive gymnastics — with a focus on strength, flexibility, and proper body positions. Pre-Team members are evaluated twice a year for the option to move to Level 1.
Compulsory Levels (Levels 1–5)
Compulsory Gymnastics follows USA Gymnastics Development Program Guidelines. Each level consists of specific routines developed by USA Gymnastics that gymnasts must learn exactly. This progression includes baseline skills that give gymnasts a solid foundation in technique and introduces the requirements for each level.
Optional Levels (Levels 6–8)
Optional gymnastics follows USAG Development Program Guidelines at Levels 6–8. In Optional gymnastics, there are set guidelines and requirements that routines are built around — however, every routine is unique in choreography and created around the gymnast’s progression and individual abilities.
The competitive season runs September through May and requires a full-year commitment. Tryouts take place over the summer in June and August.
Gymnastics Camps
Camp Klurman offers Gymnastics Camp during the summer session for 1st grade and up — open to both experienced and beginner gymnasts. USAG certified coaches lead daily rotations on bars, vault, beam, and floor. An All Star Gymnastics Camp track is also available for advanced-level gymnasts.
