DESCRIPTION:Event Details\nFlorida JCC’s Virtual Book Festival \nA Light in the Northern Sea: Denmark’s Incredible Rescue of Their Jewish Citizens During WWII. \nMonday\, April 13\, 4:00 PM \nA Light in the Northern Sea by Tim Brady is the gripping true story of Denmark’s grassroots resistance movement during WWII\, detailing how ordinary citizens courageously orchestrated a massive\, civilian-led operation to ferry nearly all of their Jewish population to safety in neutral Sweden\, saving 95% from Nazi persecution. \nTim Brady is an award-winning history author whose critically acclaimed books include Three Ordinary Girls\, Twelve Desperate Miles\, A Death in San Pietro\, and His Father’s Son. In addition to contributing numerous articles\, reviews\, essays\, and short stories for a wide range of maga­ines\, newspapers\, and journals\, he has written and helped develop a number of television documentaries\, including the Peabody Award-winning series\, Liberty! The American Revolution for PBS. He lives in St. Paul\, Min­neso­ta\, and is a grad­u­ate of the Iowa Writ­ers’ Workshop. \nThe zoom link for the event will be sent the day of the program.
