SUMMARY:FL JCC Virtual Author Event - Ilan Evyatar
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our virtual FL JCC Author Series with Ilan Evyatar\, Target Tehran; How Israel is Using Sabotage\, Cyberwarfare\, Assassination to Stop a Nuclear Iran and Create a New Middle East \nTarget Tehran provides a comprehensive account of how Israel’s decades-old intelligence agency\, Mossad\, has conducted operations with the purpose of preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power. Those operations came to a head when\, in 2018\, Mossad agents stole two truckloads of files that disclosed the country’s clear violations of the 2015 nuclear deal it had signed. \nAlthough some details are still classified or not yet released for attribution\, the authors\, who are investigative reporters\, tell this remarkable story as fully as possible. Their narrative reads like a spy novel: it is dramatic and riveting from the start. \nThe authors finished writing Target Tehran in April 2023\, and they end their account with praise for the achievements of Israel’s “elite spy agency.” One cannot help reading these words with Hamas’s October 7 attack in mind. Notwithstanding Mossad’s successes\, the authors may now find themselves investigating what at this stage appears to be a monumental intelligence failure. \nllan Evyatar is a former editor-in-chief of the award-winning magazine The Jerusalem Report\, and a former News Director\, columnist\, and senior contributor at The Jerusalem Post. \n

SUMMARY:Art Exhibition Opening - The Art of Letters: Journey into Being
DESCRIPTION:Please join us at the Schwartz-Jacob Gallery -for the opening reception of “The Art of Letters: Journey into Being\,” on Thursday\, February 27th at 7:30 pm\, featuring the work of artist Igal Fedida. This event is free and open to the community. \nA visionary series by Igal Fedida\, exploring the profound connection between the spiritual\, material\, and transformative power of language. Inspired by the sacred wisdom of letters\, particularly the Hebrew alphabet\, the series views letters as elements of creation\, carriers of divine energy\, and bridges between the finite and infinite. Each piece invites reflection on personal and collective journeys into existence and self-discovery. Crafted with materials like wood\, metals\, resin\, and pigments\, the artworks embody a tactile and layered storytelling approach. These materials symbolize the interplay of physical and spiritual dimensions\, evoking contrasts and harmonies in life. Rich with symbolic imagery—Hebrew letters\, geometric patterns\, organic textures\, and flowing lines—the series expresses themes of unity\, transformation\, and the eternal cycle of being. Through The Art of Letters: Journey into Being\, Fedida offers a profound meditation on communication\, intention\, and the unifying language of art. This collection celebrates the creative process and invites viewers to explore deeper connections between identity\, spirituality\, and the infinite possibilities within letters\, symbols\, and human experience.
