DESCRIPTION:Join us a very special tribute to Dr. Ruth Westheimer (1928-2024)\, with a screening of a fabulous documentary about her – “Ask Dr. Ruth.” \nFollowing the film presentation\, there will be a panel discussion featuring Dr. Miriam Klein Kassenoff\, Founder and Director of the Holocaust Teacher’s Institute; Dr. Nikki Freeman\, Education Director at the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach; and Danny Reed\, Cultural Arts Program Coordinator at the Miami Beach JCC. \nAsk. Dr. Ruth \nDirected by Ryan White \nUSA | 100 minutes | 2019 \nAlmost everyone knew America’s most famous sex therapist\, Dr. Ruth Westheimer. With her diminutive frame\, thick German accent\, and uninhibited approach to sex education\, Dr. Ruth revolutionized both public and private conversations around sexuality. But fewer people were aware of her early years as a Holocaust survivor and then a machine gunner in the Israeli army\, fighting during the Independence War. This delightful documentary is an affectionate tribute to a woman whose extraordinary impact on society is matched only by her remarkable life.
