SUMMARY:JCCU Lunch and Learn: The Story of Mishloach Manot - Purim Giving
DESCRIPTION:Event Details\nCome learn about and experience the mitzvah of Mishloach Manot\, an integral part of the Purim Holiday on Wednesday\, February 25\, at 12:30 with Rabbi Dvir Cahana of Base Miami. \nWe will learn about this mitzvah and then make mishloach manot for the Friendship Circle. \nMishloach Manot\, also known as Shalach Manos\, are gifts of food and drinks traditionally exchanged on the Jewish holiday of Purim. This mitzvah (commandment) involves sending at least two ready-to-eat food items to at least one other person. The practice is rooted in the Book of Esther and is intended to foster community\, friendship\, and unity \nRabbi Dvir is our Base Rabbi for Miami. He has taught Torah\, led tefillah\, and built community in his hometown community of Montreal\, then New York City\, and now Miami. Dvir was a winner of the Jewish Week’s “36 Under 36” award for launching The Amen Institute\, an international space where professional artists and rabbis unite to inspire each other in the creation of Torah-art. \nBase brings Jewish young adults\, interfaith couples\, and curious people alike together to build a community rooted in shared experiences\, meaningful connections\, and a sense of belonging. Base is where Jewish young adults in their 20s and 30s come to connect\, learn\, and celebrate in a space that feels like home. From Shabbat dinners to coffee chats\, Base is your place to build community and explore Jewish life. \nJCC-U Day of Learning-Wednesday’s at the J \n$30 per week (Includes Lunch) \nMembers & Patrons: FREE (Includes Lunch) \nThis program was made possible by the generous support from Baptist Health
