DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity for a very special evening with award-winning actress Iris Bahr (Curb Your Enthusiasm\, Hacks\, Friends and More) as she performs her one-woman show Stories from the Brink: My Festive Near Death Adventures \nWinner of the Montreal Fringe Fest Frankie Award\, Stories from the Brink is a wild\, touching and hilariously poignant journey through Ms. Bahr’s near death adventures\, from her fragmented childhood in the Bronx to her time in Israel\, Asia\, South America and back to Tel Aviv and how taking care of her mother with dementia and where on October 7th things come full circle. It is a true tale of adventure\, escape\, thrills\, terrors\, and evolution through perpetual movement. \nAs always\, Bahr masterfully combines humor\, pathos\, and masterful storytelling to take the audience on a journey that is funny\, heartbreaking\, and life-affirming all at once. \n“Bahr has more voices at her command than a symphony as strings.” Variety \nThe evening is a beautiful way to reflect on October 7 and to contemplate October 8. \nIris Bahr is an award-winning writer\, actor\, director\, producer\, and host of the hit X-Rae and Near Death podcasts. She has written two humorous memoirs: Dork Whore\, about her travels through Asia\, and Machu My Picchu\, about her adventures through South America and her college experience. She also co-authored the Book of Leon with comic JB Smoove. Her books have been translated into numerous languages\, and Dork Whore is currently being adapted into a feature film. \nHaving appeared on countless TV shows\, Ms. Bahr is best known for her recurring role on Curb your Enthusiasm\, where she plays Rachel Heinemann\, the Orthodox Jewish Girl that gets stuck on a ski-lift with Larry David\, Hacks\, The Conners\, and her cable series Svetlana\, executive produced by Mark Cuban\, which she also wrote and directed for two seasons. \nIris has written and performed six solo shows. Her most recent show\, Stories from The Brink\, premiered \nin Montreal and won the 2024 Frankie Storytelling Award. She is headed to Toronto with her other show\, See You Tomorrow\, which was nominated for the 2024 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding New play. Her critically acclaimed solo show\, “DAI (enough)”\, which she also performed at the United Nations for over 100 ambassadors and delegates\, had a hit run Off-Broadway\, has toured around the world\, and won the prestigious Lucille Lortel Award for Best Solo Performance\, as well as two Drama Desk and UK Stage Award nominations. \nShe currently resides in NY and when not touring and performing\, teaches writing\, conducts public speaking workshops and works with artists privately helping them develop and direct their work.
