Mah Jongg with Caryn Frishman
Mondays, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Have you always wanted to learn the game of Mah Jongg but didn’t have the time? Now is your chance to learn the basics.

Creative Writing with Efrat Friedman
Mondays, 2:00 – 3:30 pm
Explore the genre of the memoir while working on your own writing. Students will share and workshop their work with the group.

Art History Through the Ages with Natanya Blank
Tuesdays, 11:00 – 12:00
Learn about the art masters and masterpieces throughout history through discussion and study of selected works. No prior participation necessary.

Spanish Level I with Paula Milano
Tuesdays & Thursdays (twice per week) | 3 – 4pm
Beginning with “hola” this class will introduce you to the basics.

Spanish Level II with Paula Milano
Tuesdays & Thursdays (twice per week) | 12 pm – 1pm
Take your basic Spanish speaking skills to the next level. Designed for students who have completed the Beginner Spanish course.

Spanish Level III with Paula Milano
Tuesdays & Thursdays (twice per week) | 1:45 – 2:45pm
This course is for students who have completed the Advanced Beginner course and want to become more fluent.

A Journey Into Yiddish and Yiddishkeit with Riva Ginsburg
Thursdays 2:00 – 3:30 pm
Learn how to kvetch, kvell and converse. Sing a bissle, laugh a bissle and even reminisce a bissle.

Chair Yoga with Chavi Heber-Kunis
Fridays, 12 – 1:00 pm

A low-impact, non-aggressive way to improve flexibility and strength, improve balance and reduce stress. Just bring your own chair and follow along.

10:00 am Mindfulness and Meditation with Bunny Ross
Start your day with a peaceful, guided meditation and gentle movement.

11:00 am – 11:15 am Meet and Greet
A friendly, fun, interactive schmooze session when you will learn about the day’s schedule, hear important announcements, and stop in before classes begin.

11:15 – 12:15 Breakout Session I (choose one)

  • Stay Fit with Fabiana Luzardo
    Improve your flexibility, strength and balance through an exercise program that can be done from the comfort of your home.
  • Creative Crafts with Caryn Frishman
    Participate in a hands-on workshop with local artist Caryn Frishman. You will be amazed by what you can create using everyday materials at home.

12:30 – 1:30 BYOL Speaker Series
$10 Per Event | Free for JCC-U registrants and members
Tune into a different speaker and topic of interest each week. Most programs will connect to a local community theme, in conversation with a moderator.

1:45 – 2:45 Breakout Session II (choose one)

  • Israel: 100 Years of History with Tamar Kolumbus
    Join our Community Shlicha (Emissary) for a discussion about a different period of Israel’s history each week, from the Pioneer days to today.
  • Listen to Her Voice: Women of Genesis with Miki Raver
    Enjoy illuminating insights into our strong, sexy, strategic and decisive foremothers with Miki Raver, author of Listen to Her Voice: Women of the Hebrew Bible. Discover the presence of the Feminine Divine that lies in between the lines of their stories. Add your interpretation of their lives and tales in this lively interactive class.
  • Music Appreciation with Alan Mason
    Each week of Music Appreciation will introduce you to a classical composer and his music, beginning with a brief overview of the composer’s life and musical style, followed by guided listening of great masterworks from the classical music repertory. We will view great concert videos and listen to some of the finest recordings of the world’s most beloved classical music.

Connect with new friends in neighboring Fort Lauderdale for a shared learning experience.
