MAY 2017 – Miami Beach, FL – On May 2, the Galbut Family Miami Beach JCC on the Simkins Family Campus (MBJCC) unveiled the original artwork, Family Traditions, created this past fall by world re-renowned artist Romero Britto and our MBJCC Community Kids during its celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s 69th Birthday.
The artwork joins the MBJCC’s Britto collection, which also includes two AZUL sculptures donated from the Collection of The Lidia and Jimmy Resnick Family. The Resnick Family was recognized at the event for their generous contribution.
The event also included Israeli food, music, dancing and arts & crafts in celebration of Israel’s birthday. The MBJCC welcomed the Israeli Consul General Lior Haiat, as well as the Yerucham Singers from the MBJCC’s Sister City through the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Partnership 2Gether program.
“This event was a special opportunity to recognize our donors, host a world-renowned artist, celebrate Israel with our Israeli sister city Yerucham performers, all while showcasing our facility, raising money for our Everyone Belongs Fund and engaging families with music, trivia, dancing and Israeli food!” said Miami Beach CEO Paul Frishman
Sales from the prints of Family Traditions will help raise much-needed funds for the MBJCC’s Everyone Belongs Fund, which provides financial assistance to allow those in-need the ability to participate in MBJCC programming and services. The Everyone Belongs Fund gives all families in the community an opportunity to be a part of the incredible facility and the vital services it provides.
8”x 20” limited edition prints that are hand signed by Romero are available for $236. To purchase a copy or learn more, call (305) 534-3206 x231 or email email@example.com
